Indian River County is home to over 35 public, charter, and private schools. Including three high schools and The Mueller Campus of Indian River State College. Education in Indian River County is among the best in the state of Florida and provides you and your family with plenty of options.

Indian River School District is comprised of 27 schools, 12 of which received an "A" or "B" rating by the Florida Department of Education in 2018.

Sebastian River High School offers the prestigous IB program (International Baccalaureate) and AP course (Advanced Placement). While Vero Beach High School and Indian River Charter High School offer AP course and Dual enrollment courses taken at Indian River State College, all of which allow students to earn college transferable credit while in high school.

The Vero Beach area offers three options for a private high school experience, two of which offer a K-12 experience St. Edwards Episcopal school) on Vero Beach's barrier island and Master's Academy located in the Western corridor of town. Pictured above is John Carroll Catholic High School located in Ft. Pierce, it is on average a 15 minute drive from central Vero Beach and is a sister school to St. Helen Catholic School (K-8) in Vero Beach. Additionally, John Carroll offers students the chance to graduate with an AP Capstone diploma and dual enrollment courses, allowing students to graduate with their AA degree as well as their high school diploma.

Indian River County offers 4 middle schools serving residents with children in 6th-8th grade. Each of these schools are spread across the county and on average are less than four miles from student homes making parent engagement very easy.

There are 8 private primary schools in Vero Beach, 2 of which offer K-12 instruction, St. Edwards School on Vero Beach's barrier island pictured above and Master's Academy located in Vero's western corridor. St. Helen Catholic School (k-8) also offers a K-12 experience partnered with its sister school John Carroll High School in Fort Pierce, approximately 15 minutes south of central Vero Beach. All three of these K-12 experiences utilize Apple Ipads/Macbooks from start to finish which allow students to embrace technology at a young age and grow their learning through technology. Additionally, The Willow School located in Central Vero Beach offers a traditional K-8 education. There are a number of Christian and Montessori academies that offer Kindergarten-5th Grade experiences as well, including Glendale Christian Academy and SunCoast School.

Indian River County is home to 13 Elementary schools. Of these, two, Liberty and Osceola, are Magnet schools meaning that they offer special instruction and programs not available at other Indian River County Schools. These 13 schools are located across the county and most students live within 4 miles of their school.

Vero Beach is Home to IRSC's Mueller Campus. IRSC, is a regionally accredited state college with its flagship campus located in Fort Pierce, which is a 20 minute drive south of central Vero Beach. The Mueller Campus is composed of several classroom buildings and the Brackett Library, which is open to Indian River county residents.
